# Suppression Lists: Exclude or Enrich Contacts at Scale

> Upload CSVs to Clodura AI's suppression lists to exclude contacts from prospecting or enrich records with company data — up to 10,000 records per file.

A suppression list is a CSV file you upload to Clodura AI containing contact data you already know about — email addresses, company websites, or contact names. Once uploaded, the list serves one of two purposes depending on how you apply it: you can use it to **exclude** those records from fresh search results so you never prospect into your existing customer base, or you can use it to **enrich** those records with verified emails, phone numbers, or company-level intelligence. Suppression lists save you from manually hunting through search results to remove records you already have, and they ensure every new search delivers truly net-new leads.

## The Two Purposes of Suppression Lists

<Note>
  You can upload up to **10,000 records** per CSV suppression list (for email and website lists). Contact name lists also support up to 10,000 records. For smaller datasets, you can type entries directly into the text box (up to 1,000 entries without a CSV).
</Note>

## Types of Suppression Lists

Clodura AI supports three suppression list types, each designed for a different kind of data:

| Type                         | File Requirements                                                       | Typical Use                              |
| ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| **Email Suppression** | CSV of email addresses | Exclude or enrich by email identity |
| **Website Suppression** | CSV of domain/website URLs | Exclude or enrich by company domain |
| **Contact Name Suppression** | CSV with First Name, Last Name, Company Name (and optional Designation) | Exclude or enrich by individual identity |

After creating a suppression list, you apply it during a search in one of two ways:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select the list from the dropdown">

    * **Suppress toggle ON:** Contacts or companies matching the list are **excluded** from your search results. Use this to eliminate existing customers, opted-out contacts, or blacklisted domains from fresh prospecting.
    * **Suppress toggle OFF:** The list is applied for **enrichment only** — matching records receive additional data without being removed from your results.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run your search">
    Click **Search**. The results reflect your suppression preference automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Suppression lists with the Suppress toggle enabled permanently filter matching contacts out of your visible results for that search session. Double-check that you are applying the correct list before running a search across a large database query.
